I've always wanted to visit Mexico City and I'm going in 2 days to celebrate my birthday
For all the foreigners visiting Mexico I'd like to give you a piece of advice. If you use the subway DO NOT carry your wallet/passport on your pockets. The subway is the easiest/fastest and cheapest way to move around the city and because of that there are lots of pickpokets. So my recommendation is: Have your belongings in a backpack and put it in front of your chest and hold to it when I'm the subway/bus – wearing it at the back is just as bad as having it in your pockets. I'm Mexican, I've traveled all around the world and I lived most of my life in there. And even though it's a wonderful city bad people can be found everywhere so please follow my advice and enjoy my country/city ❤️

I used to visit Mexico City with my mom and sisters when I was a little boy by the 70s… we used to take "The Mexicano" train from Veracruz Port to CDMX, it took 12 hours to make it, the way of that railroad to the Aztec capital has some of the most pristine landscapes in all Mexico. Unforgettable.
